"This exhibition is designed to challenge stereotypes of the Muslim community by showing our rich diversity through art, poetry and storytelling," said Faizan Syed, executive director of CAIR-DFW. "A saying of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is ‘God is beautiful, and He loves beauty.’ It's time to show Dallas this beautiful side of our faith."

The program will feature dozens of local Muslim artists who will showcase and sell their works. These artists utilize a variety of art styles from paintings, mosaics, calligraphy, pottery, and much more. The program will also feature local Muslim performers who entertain through poetry, spoken word, Nasheed (Islamic songs), and more. The program will also include a children's art zone where kids can draw, get henna designs, and make other art forms.

"We believe in highlighting Muslim artists, not necessarily 'Islamic art.' Our artists are as diverse as our community. Some are animators, painters, ceramic artists, calligraphers, clothing designers, graphic designers, and more," said Bismah Syed, Art Curator of CAIR DFW.

The program will also include a writing competition for students from 1st - 12th grade. Students attend the event, write a one-page reflection, and email it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Those with the best essays will receive a prize per grade level. Families of all faiths and backgrounds are encouraged to attend, meet artists, enjoy delicious international food, and learn about their Muslim neighbors.
